Football's Dante Love Honored by the MAC

Dante Love (Cincinnati, Ohio/Withrow H.S.), a senior member of the Ball State University football team, has been selected as the Mid-American Conference West Division Offensive Player of the Week by the league office.
Love accounted for three touchdowns and 336 all-purpose yards in Ball State's 35-23 win over Navy in an ESPN nationally televised game last Friday. He managed nine receptions for 165 yards and two touchdowns, six rushes for 37 yards and one TD and five kickoff returns for 13 yards. The 336 all-purpose yards rank as the 11th best single-game effort in MAC history.
This marks the second straight week a Ball State student-athlete has been recognized by the MAC. B.J. Hill was named the MAC West Division Special Teams Player of the Week after the Cardinals season opening 48-14 win over Northeastern. This is the first time Love has received the weekly award from the MAC.
Ball State, 2-0 on the season, will open the MAC portion of its schedule Saturday with a 1 p.m. game at Akron's Rubber Bowl.
