Women's Basketball Holds Annual Golf Outing

MUNCIE, Ind. - The Ball State University women's basketball program hosted its annual golf outing Saturday, Aug. 23 at Hickory Hills Golf Course located in Farmland, Ind. There were a total of 124 participants, which gave them a total of 31 foursome teams for the day.
”The 2008 Ball State University Women's Basketball Golf Outing was a tremendous success," said head coach Kelly Packard. "I am still overwhelmed at the support demonstrated toward our program from the various sponsors in the community, the participants, and the faithful Cardinal Court volunteers that contributed toward the ultimate success of this event.”
The morning outing began with a 7:30 a.m. shot-gun which followed with a luncheon and awards ceremony. The Freeman Lawncare group of Joe Freeman, Bill Honn, Rob Woods and Scott Shipley were the winners of the morning session. The afternoon portion of the outing began at 1 p.m. which concluded with dinner and awards. Marion Local won the afternoon outing with the foursome of Brian Dwenger, Vance Nation, Brian Kremer and Ray Wilker.
The coaching staff and players all worked the event that included a silent auction along with raffling off prizes.
Ball State will face Indiana University Friday, Nov. 14 at 7 p.m. in the preseason WNIT.
