Two Golfers Finish in Top 10 at Women's State Am

Two members of the Ball State University women's golf team finished in the top 10 in the 87-person field at the Indiana Women's Golf Association State Amateur Championship at Purdue University's Ackerman Hills Golf Course.
Brittany Kelly (Fishers, Ind./Hamilton Southeastern H.S.), who will be a sophomore for head coach Katherine Mowat's Ball State golf team this fall, shot a final round 73 to finish fourth in the tournament. Her 73 tied for the second low score in the final round. Kelly managed a 75-74-73=222 for the tournament, which was six strokes behind Julia Potter, who won the championship.
KC Cain (Marion, Ind./Marion H.S.), who will be a freshman for the Cardinals this fall, tallied a final round 79 to finish in a tie for ninth at the IWGA State Am. Cain managed tournament scores of 76-76-79=231, and tied with Kristi Cardwell of Kokomo for ninth place.
Rachael Pruett (Linton, Ind./Stockton H.S.), who will be a sophomore this fall, tallied an 84 in the third and final round and finished 29th in the field. Pruett managed scores of 82-74-84=240.
Sarah Windlan (Anderson, Ind./Anderson Highland H.S.), a senior for the Ball State team this fall, managed an 81 in the final round and completed the championship tied for 36th. Windlan tallied an 80-82-81=243 for the tournament.
Katie Windlan (Anderson, Ind./Anderson Highland H.S.), who is an incoming Ball State freshman and the sister of Sarah, managed an 83-85-84=252 and tied for 51st.
