Softball Team Falls To Bowling Green at MAC

AKRON, Ohio ? Bowling Green hit four home runs to defeat the Cardinals 6-0 on Thursday night.

Haleigh Bielstein hit two solo home runs against Ball State. She gave the Falcons the lead in the top of the second inning with her first home run. Her second home run came in the fourth inning.

Katelynn Boso also hit a two-run home run in the fourth inning to open up a 4-0 lead for the Falcons.

Amanda Pick broke up the no hitter as she recorded the first hit of the game for Ball State with a single to left field in the bottom of the fourth inning. The only other hit of the game for BSU came in the bottom of the sixth inning when Alyssa Collins hit a single up the middle.

Emily Gouge ended the Cardinals chances when she hit a two-run home run in the top of the sixth giving BGSU a 6-0 victory.

Hayley Wiemer threw a complete game and limited the Cardinals to two hits. Elizabeth Milian took the loss on the mound for BSU.

The Cardinals will continue tournament play tomorrow with a game against the Akron Zips at 11:00 a.m. If the Cards win they will face Kent State at 5:00 p.m.
