Men's Tennis Remains Undefeated In MAC Play

DEKALB, Ill. - The Ball State University men's tennis team (9-11, 2-0 MAC) remained undefeated in Mid-American Conference action after posting a 4-3 victory at Northern Illinois (8-5, 1-1 MAC) Sunday afternoon.

The Cardinals won the doubles point over the Huskies to take an early 1-0 lead. Jorge Rodriguez and Jose Perdomo defeated Brian Livingston and Adam Ford at No. 1 by a score of 9-8. BSU lost at No. 2 doubles but won at No. 3 after the twosome of Danny Vidal and Shaun Bussert claimed an 8-2 win over NIU's Matt Hensen and Alfonso Monroy.

Ball State won three of its singles matches to secure the victory over Northern Illinois. At No. 3 Rodriguez captured a 6-3, 6-2 win over Adam Ford. Shaun Bussert won at No. 4 over Jimmy Chu, 7-5, 6-1 while teammate Vidal earned a three set win over Javier Bernabe at No. 6.

The Ball State men's tennis team travels to MAC rival Western Michigan Saturday, April 12. The match will begin at 1 p.m.
