Track & Field Competes In Stan Lyons Invite

Ali Bishel won the 5000-meter run for the Cardinals. She set a regional qualifying time by finishing the race in 16:23.39. Bishel is now second on the all-time BSU track and field top ten records list. Katie Nowak holds the record with a time of 16:15.29.
Amanda Barnhart also set a regional qualifying mark in the long jump competition. Barnhart jumped 19-9 ? to place second.
Lauren McNichols set a new
Katie Johnson ran her fastest 100-meter hurdles race of the season. She finished in second place with a time of 13.86. The time moves Johnson to sixth on the all-time BSU records list.
Sarah Kehe recorded the fastest 800-meter run of the season for BSU. Kehe took sixth place in the event with a time of 2:17.97.
Off the track, Cara Collins picked up a pair of fifth place finishes in the discus and hammer throw. Collins threw the hammer 177-1, placing her second all-time in BSU history. Sarah Martin holds the record in the hammer throw with a distance of 184-10. Collins moved to fifth all-time in the discus with a distance of 147-03.
The Cardinals will return to action when they compete in the Butler Open on Saturday, May 3.
