Cardinals Compete In Dave Rankin Invite

Sophomore Katie Johnson finished second in the 100-meter hurdles. She clocked in at 14.38. Ra'Jae Marable took fourth place in the hurdles with a time of 14.93. Redshirt senior Amber Williams won the event finishing in 13.82.
Johnson recorded a third place finish in the 200-meter dash. Her time of 25.23 is her fastest time of the season.
The 4x100 meter relay team of Johnson, Lanae Stovall, Lindsay Bangert, and Brandi Robinson finished third with a time of 48.19.
Jenna Schmitmeyer placed fifth in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 1:04.12
Kelsey Nielsen led the distance crew with a second place finish in the 10000-meter run. She finished in 38:32.56, nearly 17 seconds faster than her time at the Mike Poelein Invitational.
Ali Bishel led the Cardinals in the 1500-meter run. She finished fifth (4:40.67), as teammate Sarah Kehe crossed the finish line in seventh (4:47.71), and Lisa Arrowsmith rounded out the top-ten with a time of 4:55.98.
Off the track, Amanda Barnhart finished second in the long jump (18-11 ?).
Cara Collins led the Cardinals in both the shot put and the hammer throw. Collins finished second in the shot put competition with a throw of 42-5 ?. Lauren Cleaver placed 10th with a distance of 33-11 ?.
Collins throw of 165-8 in the hammer was good enough for third place. Tyra Schantz earned eighth place with a distance of 138-4, while Jordan Puckett rounded out the top-ten with a throw of 122-3.
The Cardinals will return to action Saturday, April 26 to compete in the Stan Lyons Invitational.
