
Softball Swept By Kent State

KENT, Ohio ? The Cardinals fell to the Kent State Golden Flashes 2-1 during game one, and came up short in game two 4-2.
Elizabeth Milian was in a pitching duel with the three-time MAC East pitcher of the week Kylie Reynolds in game one.
Lisa Rozanski recorded the first hit of the game for the Cardinals with a single to the left side of the infield. She stole second base, and moved into better scoring position by stealing third.
Rozanski now has a team-high 30 steals this season.
Alicia Barkley led off the fourth inning with a bunt single. Abby Gross followed in the lineup with a single to right centerfield that allowed Barkley to move to third base.
Barkley scored the first run of the game for BSU off a passed ball. Gunderson pinch ran for Gross and advanced to third on the play.
Gunderson was stranded at third base, but
Jamie Fitzpatrick tied the game with a solo home run in the bottom of the fourth inning.
The game was sent into extra innings with the game tied at 1-1.
Kaile Germaine hit a single to right centerfield in the bottom of the ninth inning for the Golden Flashes.
Milian walked Heather Duhon. Lauren Brocklehurst laid down a sacrifice bunt that advanced both runners.
Jessica Carmichael's first hit of the game was the most important hit of the game as Germaine scored giving
Both Milian and Reynolds threw complete games. Milian allowed eight hits and stuck out six. Reynolds gave up six hits, but only issued one walk and struck out 14 batters.
Alyssa Collins led off the sixth inning with a stand-up double. Collins now has six doubles on the year. Barkley followed Collins with an infield single, and Gabrielle Burns hit Gross to load the bases for
Amanda Pick hit an RBI single down the third base line cutting into the KSU lead 3-1. Burns walked Milian and was replaced on the mound by Reynolds.
Reynolds struck out the first two batters she faced, and BSU ended the inning with a lineout to third base.
