MUNCIE, Ind. - The Ball State University men's tennis team defeated IUPUI 7-0 Saturday afternoon at the Muncie YMCA Tennis Center.
Ball State won the doubles point to take an early lead over IUPUI. The tandem of Jose Perdomo and Jorge Rodriguez won at the No. 1 spot over Gabriel Garcia and Gregory Sosa by a score of 8-5. The Cardinals continued their winning ways after Eduardo Pavia alongside teammate Bret Berryman took down Jorge Yunes and E.J. Dechow at No. 2, 8-4. Jimmy Brannon and Danny Vidal rounded out the doubles victory over Blake Powers and Jesus Diaz, 8-3.
BSU went on to win all six of the singles matches. Taking the No. 1 singles match was Perdomo with a 6-4, 6-3 victory over Garcia. Pavia defeated Sosa at No. 2, 6-3, 6-3. Berryman, Rodriguez, Brannon, and Bussert all won their matches to secure the victory for the Cardinals.
Ball State men's tennis travels to UNLV Friday, March 14. The match will begin at 2 p.m.
