Green Garners MAC West Player Of The Week Honors

“This award sums up the type of season that Porchia has had,” acting head coach Lisa McDonald said. “She has been a consistent force and has led us in almost every category all season long. Her play over the past five games has been a big reason why we finished the regular season on such a high note.”
Green, a preseason All-MAC selection, played a pivotal role in the Cardinals' regular season finale victory. She turned in a stellar all-around effort as she scored 19 points, dished out six assists, grabbed five rebounds, recorded five steals and registered three blocked shots in 43 minutes of play. She was a perfect seven-for-seven from the charity stripe in the contest.
She becomes the fifth different Cardinal this season to earn MAC West Division Player of the Week accolades as she joins sophomore guard Audrey McDonald (Kokomo, Ind./Kokomo), junior guard Kiley Jarrett (Bloomington, Ind./North), freshman forward Emily Maggert (Paris, Ill./Paris) and senior forward Julie DeMuth (
Green and the Cardinals are the number one seed from the West Division in the upcoming 2008 Kraft MAC Tournament. The Cardinals have a first round bye in the tournament and will open play Tuesday, March 11 against the winner of the Toledo/Buffalo contest.
