Garofano, Pick Represent MAC West

MUNCIE, Ind. ? The Ball State softball team had two players honored by the league office after their participation in the Panera Bread Tournament.
Tiffany Garofano (Alamogordo, N.M./Eastern Arizona) was named Mid-American Conference West Division Pitcher of the week, and Amanda Pick (Cincinnati, Ohio/McAuley) was named MAC West Division Player of the week as announced by the league office Feb. 27.
Garofano went 1-1 in tournament play with an ERA of 2.00. She recorded 21 strikeouts and only gave up four runs through 14 innings pitched. She recorded a career-high 12 strikeouts against St. Francis to lead BSU to a 2-1 victory.
Pick hit .429 with a slugging percentage of 1.000 over the weekend. She had two doubles two home runs and 5 RBI helping the Cardinals to a 4-1 record in tournament play. Pick hit her first home run of the season against East Tennessee State. She also hit a three-run home run against Lipscomb to lead Ball State to a 5-3 victory.
