Women's Basketball Hosts Temple Monday

Scouting Ball State: The Cardinals are coming off of a 72-71 overtime win at Western Kentucky Saturday, Dec. 20. Senior guard Kiley Jarrett hit a last second layup to win the game for Ball State. The victory over Western Kentucky is Ball State's first road win of the season. The Mid-American Conference was 0-13 against Western Kentucky, Ball State is the only MAC school that has defeated the Hilltoppers. The Cardinals improve to 6-3 overall and will host Temple Monday in Worthen Arena. Tip-off is a 7 p.m. Ball State is currently undefeated this season at home with a 5-0 record.
Scouting Temple: The Temple Owls visit Muncie with an 5-4 overall record. Temple is coming off of a 65-56 loss to Villanova. Shaqwedia Wallace led the Owls after netting a career-high 26 points at Villanova. Wallace scored 22 of those points in the second half alone. Shenita Landry pulled down a game-high 10 rebounds and dropped in six points. The Owls are under first year head coach Tonya Cardoza. Temple has posted wins this season over Bowling Green (70-55), Illinois (66-47), Hampton (79-50), Dartmouth (65-29) and Toledo (73-46).
Series History: This is the second meeting between Ball State and Temple. Temple leads the all-time series record 1-0. The two teams met last season in Philadelphia, in which Temple earned a 72-48 victory over the Cardinals. The Owls are 10-2 against MAC school's with its only losses coming against Bowling Green and Miami.
Next Up: Ball State is off for the holidays until Dec. 29 when they travel to Alabama for the Crimson Tide Holiday Classic where they will face the Richmond Spiders at 1 p.m.
