Women's Hoops Loses 91-68 At Illinois State

"Our staff is obviously very disappointed with the outcome of the game," said head women's basketball coach Kelly Packard. "Most specifically, we must find a way to develop and absolutely demand an unwavering spirit of competitiveness. Illinois State brought a lot of energy on their home court and we simply didn't answer. We must develop a much more fierce desire to flat out compete."

The Redbirds had four players score in double digits with Kristi Cirone leading all scorers with 19 points. The Cardinals were out rebounded 54-to-30.
The Redbirds rattled off 13 straight points after the tie to build a 19-6 cushion with 14:17 left in the first half.
At halftime the Cardinals trailed the Redbirds, 50-37.
The closest the Cardinals came in the second half was when Gratton hit a three-pointer with 15:56 remaining to cut the Redbirds lead to nine (54-45).
