Men's Tennis Signs Three Recruits

MUNCIE, Ind.- Ball State University men's tennis coach Bill Richards has announced the signing of three men's tennis players for the 2009-2010 season in Dalton Albertin (Indianapolis, Ind./Lawrence Central), Owen Doherty (Marietta, Ga./George Walton) and Austin Sansone (Greenwood, Ind./Center Grove).
“We are very happy with our 2009-10 recruiting class," said Richards. "All 3 of these young men have competed at a good national level in USTA junior tournaments and have had outstanding high school careers. Most important, they have tremendous potential for the future but also are capable of contributing right away.”
Albertin played at No. 1 singles and was runner-up in the state tournament as a junior and finished fourth his senior season in 2008.
Doherty played No. 1 singles as a sophomore and junior and will gradute this spring.
Sansone played at the No. 1 spot for Center Grove and led his team to the Indiana State Championship this fall.
The Ball State University men's tennis team opens spring competition at Big Ten foe Illinois Friday, Jan. 16 at 6 p.m.
