
Gymnastics Falls To Kent State In MAC Home Opener

MUNCIE, Ind. - The Ball State University women's gymnastics team (0-3, 0-2 MAC) fell to Kent State (3-1, 2-0 MAC) in Mid-American Conference action on Friday night in Irving Gymnasium. Kent State scored a 192.975 to Ball State's 186.875.
Senior Erica Gilkerson (North Branch, Minn./North Branch) opened the night with a 9.575 performance to lead the Cardinals on vault. Gilkerson took the top score on beam with a 9.475.
On bars newcomer Paige Oswalt (Mooresville, Ind./Mooresville) took second place overall on bars with a season best performance of 9.700. Oswalt's 9.700 bar score marks a team high on the event this season.
Senior Kristin Sprague (Fairfield, Ohio/Fairfield) posted the highest mark on floor for Ball State with a 9.575.
Ball State continues league action on the road at Northern Illinois on Feb. 3. The meet will begin at 3 p.m. (EST). The Cardinals return home for the Alumni meet and Think Pink night on Friday, Feb. 8, at 6 p.m. Former Ball State All-American Sarah Mikrut will be introduced at the meet prior to being inducted into Ball State's Hall of Fame that same evening.
