Men's Tennis Ends Second Day at Tom Fallon Invitational

NOTRE DAME, Ind. - The Ball State University men's tennis team ended its second day of competition at the Tom Fallon Invitational hosted by Notre Dame on Saturday evening.
Ball State opened the day with singles play against Notre Dame. Junior Jimmy Brannon (Cincinnati, Ohio/Oak Hills) was the lone Cardinal to win a match over Notre Dame. Brannon defeated Takashi Yoshii by a score of 6-4, 2-6, 1-0 (10-5). In other singles action senior Danny Vidal (Guaynabo, Puerto Rico/Colegio San Ignacio) captured a 6-3, 6-7 (4-7), 10-7 win over Jai Yoon of Indiana University.
In doubles action the BSU twosome of freshman Shaun Bussert (Decatur, Ga./Decatur) and sophomore Bret Berryman (Blue Springs, Mo./Blue Springs South) earned an 8-5 victory over Purdue's D.J. Johnson and Jose Fuenmayor. The duo of freshman Eduardo Pavia (Carolina, Puerto Rico) and junior Jorge Rodriguez (San Juan, Puerto Rico/San Ignacio) defeated Notre Dame's Sean Corrigan and Matt Johnson, 8-6. Bussert and Berryman also defeated a mixed doubles tandem of Tai Yoon of IU and Graham King of Notre Dame, 8-6.
Ball State men's tennis concludes play at the Tom Fallon Invitational on Sunday (Sept. 30) at 9 a.m.
