Pavia and Bussert Dominate Singles Action at Ball State Invitational

MUNCIE, Ind. - Freshmen Eduardo Pavia (Carolina, Puerto Rico) and Shaun Bussert (Decatur, Ga./Decatur) closed out the 29th Annual Ball State Invitational with championship wins on Sunday afternoon at the Cardinal Creek Tennis Center.
Pavia won the men's singles Flight A draw after defeating Dusan Medan of Marquette by a score of 7-6, 6-2. Classmate Bussert won his final round match (6-3, 6-1) over Eastern Illinois' Jeff Rutherford in the men's singles Flight B bracket.
Pavia and teammate senior Danny Vidal (Guaynabo, Puerto Rico/Colegio San Ignacio) pulled off an 8-6 win in the men's doubles Flight A consolation final round over Bradley's Milos Romic and Vuk Bolic.
Senior Jose Perdomo (Trujillo Alto, Puerto Rico, Colegio San Jose) fell (7-6, 1-6, 10-8) to Alex Friesen of Northern Illinois in the men's singles Flight A consolation final match.
Ball State continues fall action at the Milwaukee Classic (Sept. 21-23).
