
Comeback Attempt Falls Short For Women's Volleyball

In the opening match of the morning session, No. 16 Ohio State topped Maine 3-0 (30-12, 30-19, 30-19).
“I was disappointed with the way we started the match,” said BSU head coach Dave Boos. “We came out playing scared and timid. However, between games two and three, we switched to a whole new lineup and did a great job. We need to find that kind of chemistry and effort level every time out.”
For the second-straight match, it was serving that was the key. In the opening set, it was four SEMO service aces and four BSU errors that helped guide the Redhawks to a 30-22 win. While the Cardinals committed eight service errors in the second stanza, falling 30-23.

For the match, the Cardinals were able to out-hit the Redhawks .122 (58-34-296) to .062 (55-42-209), while holding a 96-to-91 edge in digs and a 12-to-8 lead in blocks.
SEMO posted 11 aces to BSU's five. BSU also committed 19 service errors in the loss, compared to seven for the Redhawks.
