He was also named to the 2006 Academic All-MAC First Team and was one of 20 semifinalists for the Lou Groza Collegiate Placekicker Award.
In his career, Jackson connected on 49 field goals, which ranks as the third best career total in Ball State annals. He kicked a school record 111 extra points, scored 258 career points, which ranks second in Ball State history, and made 40 consecutive extra points to set a new Ball State standard. As a senior, Jackson made a season-long field goal of 52 yards vs. Indiana, and he connected on a career-best 54-yard field goal at Northern Illinois as a junior.
At the July Combine, Jackson connected on 5-of-8 field goals, making kicks of 30, 35, 45, 45 and 50 yards.
