BSU Track Competes In Butler Twilight

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. -- The Ball State track and field team participated in the Butler Twilight to prepare themselves for the upcoming Mid-American Conference Championships Meet.
The 4x100 meter relay team of Christina Whitt, Amber Williams, Voni Ferguson and Katie Johnson highlighted the event by setting a regional qualifying time of 45.44.
Prior to that race the team's best time was 45.94 which was just short of the qualifying time of 45.70.
Williams recorded her fastest time in the 100-meter dash at the Butler Twilight finishing in 11.83.
Ferguson and Whitt placed in the top five in the 200-meter dash. Ferguson came in third (24.49), as Whitt followed in fifth (24.84).
Johnson finished second in the 100-meter hurdles in a time of 14.64, while Lanae Stovall placed sixth in 15.11.
Sarah Kehe had two top five finishes in the 800-meter run and in the 1500-meter run. Kehe finished second in the 800 with a time of 2:16.66. In the 1500 she was the first BSU runner to finish. Kehe finished in 4:46.56 good enough for third place.
Ali Bishel finished fourth in the 1500 clocking in at 4:47.19. Other BSU participants in the race include Brittany Ade (9th-4:50.94), Lisa Arrowsmith (13th-4:54.56), Vanessa Gilbert (16th-5:00.68), and Kelsey Nielson (21st-5:16.28).
Jenna Schmitmeyer recorded a second place finish in the 400-meter hurdles.
Off the track, Lauren McNichols was the top performer with a second place finish in the pole vault. McNichols cleared 11-5.75 to earn second place.
Jessica Genovese also earned a second place finish with her performance in the high jump (5-3).
The BSU track and field team will return to action May 10, at Oxford, Ohio to compete in the MAC Championships.
