
Men's Tennis Captures 5-2 Road Win At Toledo

TOLEDO, Ohio - The Ball State men's tennis team (8-10, 2-0 MAC) defeated Toledo on Sunday, April 8 by a score of 5-2.
Despite a loss at No. 1 doubles the Cardinals managed to win at the No. 2 and No. 3 spots to take an early lead over the Rockets. The twosome of Aaron Phillips and Jorge Rodriguez battled Chris Clark and Mohammed Al Nabhani for an 8-5 victory. The duo of Jarrod Epkey and Joe Vallee beat Keith Moran and Jared Miller, 8-5.
Ball State won four singles matches to notch the victory over the Rockets. Joe Epkey started singles play strong after posting a 6-2, 6-0 win over Mohammed Al Nabhani. The Cardinals went on to claim wins at the No. 2, No. 5 and No. 6 spots.
Phillips registered a 6-3, 6-4 win over Jared Miller at No. 2. Vallee was a 6-4, 7-5 winner over Tyler Sonkin at No. 5 and Bret Berryman defeated Travis Curran, 7-5, 6-3 at No. 6.
Ball State will host Notre Dame on Tuesday, April 10. The match will begin at 1 pm.
