
Men's Tennis Loses To No. 6 Notre Dame, 7-0

MUNCIE, Ind.- The Ball State University men's tennis team (8-11) dropped its dual match on Tuesday, losing to the No. 6 Fighting Irish of Notre Dame (19-3) 7-0 at the Cardinal Creek Tennis Center.
Notre Dame took the early lead on the Cardinals after winning the doubles point. The BSU twosome of Joe Epkey and Jose Perdomo nearly defeated Ryan Keckley and Stephen Bass losing by a score of 9-7 at the No. 1 slot. The No. 2 tandem of Aaron Phillips and Jorge Rodriguez came even closer to Notre Dame's Sheeva Parbhu and Brett Helgeson dropping the match in a tie breaker 9-8 (5).
In singles, Notre Dame extended its lead with wins at all six flights. Perdomo played strong but lost 7-6 (4), 7-6 (5) at the No. 3 spot. At No. 5, Bret Berryman put up a fight over Keckley losing the match 2-6. 6-3 (11-9).
