Ball State Finish Sixth At Miami Invitational

OXFORD, Ohio -- The Ball State track and field team placed sixth at the Miami Invitational. Ball State recorded 40 points at the meet. Miami (OH) won the meet with 199.50 points
Ball State won the 4x100 meter relay with the team of Christina Whitt, Amber Williams, Katie Johnson and Voni Ferguson. They finished in 47.70 to earn 10 points for the team.
Whitt recorded a third place finish in the 400-meter dash. Whitt's time of 58.40 earned six points for the team.
Amanda Brewer placed seventh in the 400-meter hurdle event finishing in 1:07.54. Senior Amanda Ponsot finished sixth in the 800-meter run finishing with a time of 2:20.58.
In the distance events, Ball State had two runners place in the 3000-meter steeplechase event. Senior Rose Lehe placed fourth with freshman Sarah Kehe following in fifth place.
Freshmen Brittany Ade and Ali Bishel earned points for Ball State in the 1500-meter run. Ade placed seventh in 4:50.25, while Bishel finished right behind her in eighth place in 4:50.80.
Off the track Terri Abraham took third place in the long jump with a distance of 18-4.25. Tyra Schantz placed eighth in the discus with a distance of 109-6.
Ball State will return to action April 21 as they travel to West Lafayette to compete in the Dave Rankin Invitational.
