
Women's Tennis Downs Northern Illinois 5-2

DEKALB, Ill. - The Ball State University women's tennis team captured a 5-2 road win at Northern Illinois on Friday afternoon. The Cardinals are now 8-11 overall and 2-5 in the Mid-American Conference.
Ball State lost the doubles point, but came out strong in singles winning five of the six matches.
Sophie Quist alongside teammate Haly Calderwood tallied an 8-1 victory over Megan Brooks and Brooke Forsberg for the Cardinals lone doubles win of the day.
Quist downed Lilian Asuaje at No. 1 singles, 6-3, 3-6, 6-4. Calderwood earned a 6-2, 6-4 win over Jenny Edner at the No. 2 spot. Ball State lost at No. 3 singles but clinched wins at No. 4, No. 5 and No. 6 to earn the win over the Huskies.
Ball State will end its regular season on the road at Miami on Friday, April 20. The match is set to begin at 1 pm.
