YPSILANTI, Mich. - The Ball State University gymnastics team (2-10, 1-6 MAC) took fourth place at the Eastern Michigan Invitational on Saturday afternoon at Bowen Fieldhouse.
The invitational consisted of four teams which included Eastern Michigan, Ball State, Illinois State and Central Michigan. BSU ended the day with a team total of 189.075. Host EMU won the meet by a score of 193.575.
The Cardinals scored a 47.675 on vault, a 47.150 on bars, a 45.850 beam and ended the day with a 48.400 floor total.
Leading the way for Ball State on vault was senior Jenna Tarkington (9.750). Junior Kristin Sprague recorded a team best on bars with a 9.525. Junior Brittany George tallied a 9.250 on beam while junior Erica Gilkerson took top honors for the Cardinals on floor with a 9.775.
Ball State gymnastics continues its road swing when it travels to Alaska on Friday, March 16.
