Brinkoetter, Huang, Patterson and Sayler Named Academic All-MAC

The award is voted on by the league's faculty athletic representatives. A total of 20 student-athletes were named to the team.
Brinkoetter is a two-time recipient of the award. Most recently Brinkoetter was tabbed Second Team All-MAC for her overall performance throughout the season for the Cardinals. Brinkoetter swam her way to a third place finish at the 2007 MAC Championships in the 400 IM after clocking in a time of 4:28.15. Brinkoetter also took fifth place in the 200 back with a time of 2:04.38.
Sayler was a top eight finisher for the Cardinals at MAC's. Sayler managed a fifth place finish after a final time of 57.60 in the 100 back. She also took sixth in the 200 back with a time of 2:05.83
To be nominated, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.20 cumulative GPA and have participated in at least 50 percent of the contests for that particular sport. First year students and junior college transfers in their first year of residence are not eligible for the award. Outstanding academic and athletic accomplishments from the current season only are considered.
Ball State ended the season with a seventh place finish at the MAC Championships (Feb. 14-17).
