Swimming & Diving Places Six In The Top Eight At MAC?s

YPSILANTI, Mich. - The Ball State University women's swimming and diving team had six members of its team finish in the top eight at the Mid-American Conference Championships (Jan. 14-17).
Senior Mary Brinkoetter swam her way to a third place finish in the 400 IM with a time of 4:28.15. Brinkoetter was also named Second Team All-MAC. Freshman Emily Hurst came in sixth place after clocking in a 4:30.73 final. Senior Michelle Braden rounded out the group of Cardinals in that event after collecting a seventh place finish (4:30.96).
In the backstroke senior Brittany Sayler shined for BSU with a fifth place finish after a final time of 57.60 in the 100 back. Brinkoetter along with classmate Sayler came in fifth and sixth respectively in the 200 back. Brinkoetter ended the event with a time of 2:04.38 and Sayler had a 2:05.83.
Ball State freshman Kelly Johnson took seventh in the 100 fly (57.78) while senior Stephanie Paul placed eighth in the 1-meter diving (241.85).
Junior Addison Del Rio did not finish in the top eight but came close notching a ninth place finish in the 100 breast.
