Green?s Double-Double Lifts Women?s Hoops To Victory

“Tonight was a great team win as everyone contributed in key spots for us,” associate and acting head coach Lisa McDonald said. “We played together as a team and maintained our composure throughout the game. This is a very well deserved victory.”

“Porchia was unstoppable tonight as she was very aggressive and looked to attack every time she had the ball,” McDonald said. “We received big time minutes and shots from our entire team as our hard work the past couple of weeks is starting to show off on the court.”
The Cardinals (4-8) came out in the first half and found their offensive stroke from the start as they scored the first seven points of the game to force an Austin Peay timeout. Green started things off with an omen for the first half as she nailed a three-pointer from the corner.

Austin Peay finished the game shooting 40.4 percent (23-of-57) from the field and 42.1 percent (eight-of-19) from three-point land. The Cardinals forced the Lady Govs into 17 turnovers and scored 25 points off of the APSU miscues. Amber Bacon led the Lad Govs with a game-high 22 points as she hit six-of-eight from three-point land in the loss.
