Men's Tennis Completes Day One of Texas Invitational

AUSTIN, Texas - The Ball State University men's tennis team completed its first day of competition at the Texas Invitational Saturday.
Freshman Eduardo Pavia fell to Renato Melo 6-2, 2-6, 6-2 in the round of 64. Senior Jarrod Epkey lost to Peter Zimmer 6-2, 6-4 in the round of 32 while teammate junior Jose Perdomo dropped his match to Steve Robertson, 6-3, 7-5.
Joe Vallee defeated Jacob Wally in men's open B singles, 4-6, 6-3, 6-2. Berryman captured a 6-7, 6-4, 6-2 win over Justin Raiti.
Danny Vidal was victorious over Rav Dhatt 6-2, 7-6 in consolation play. Shaun Bussert defeated Doug Mayeda, 6-0, 4-0, 1-0 and Jorge Rodriguez earned a 6-4, 6-0 win over Stephen Wiechert and later defeated Tommy Collins 6-2, 6-2 in consolation action.
The Cardinals dropped all of their doubles matches.
Ball State continues play at the Texas Invitational on Sunday, Nov. 4.
