Knipp Named MAC West Division Defensive Player of the Week

MUNCIE, Ind. - Sophomore defensive back Alex Knipp (Amherst, Ohio/Steele) of the Ball State University football team was named Mid-American Conference West Division Defensive Player of the Week by the league office Monday afternoon. This is the first time in Knipp's career he has received the weekly honors.
Knipp registered a career-high 15 tackles plus had his fourth interception of the season in Ball State's 41-20 victory Tuesday over Toledo. Knipp's interception late in the first half resulted in a touchdown for the Cardinals, tying the score 20-20 before halftime.
Ball State football (6-5) will travel to Northern Illinois Saturday, Nov. 24. Kick off is at 3 p.m. (CT) in a game televised on Comcast Sports Network Chicago.
