With the loss, the Cardinals fall to 2-5 in Mid-American Conference action and to 3-16 overall. The Bobcats, who pick up their fourth-straight win, climb to 14-4 (6-1 MAC).
Senior Brittany May (Gaston, Ind./Wes-Del H.S.) was the Cardinals' top attacker on the night, collecting 11 kills while adding two digs and a block assist.
Defensively, the Bobcats limited the league's top libero, BSU freshman Alyssa Rio (Wayne, Ill./St. Francis H.S.), to a season-low five digs, marking the first time this season Rio has been held under double-digits.

Ohio opened the contest strong, scoring the first three points, only to see the Cardinals answer with the next four, including a pair of block assists from freshman Alexis Shonkwiler (Marion, Ind./Eastbrook H.S.). However, the Bobcats retaliated with a five-point run of their own to take control of the set at 8-4.
BSU scored two of the next three points to pull within three at 9-6, only to see Ohio claim a 10-point advantage at 20-10 and go on to win the set 30-15.
The second game saw the Bobcats rally off the first five points and never trail, winning 30-17.
After an ace from sophomore Julie Breivogel (Boonville, Ind./Boonville H.S.) gave the Cardinals a brief 6-5 advantage in the third set, Ohio rallied off the next four points to take a 9-6 lead. The Cardinals remained within three points at 16-13, only to see the hosts rally off 14 of the final 21 points to win the game 30-20.
Overall, the Cardinals finished the match with a .084 (33-25-95) attack percentage, while scoring 31 digs, five total blocks and four aces.
The Bobcats' Melissa Griffin paced all players with 13 kills, while Janice Matacic added a team-best seven digs.
