Ball State Falls to MAC Rival Central Michigan

MUNCIE, Ind. - The Ball State women's gymnastics team (0-3) opened Mid-American Conference play with a loss to Central Michigan on Friday night at Irving Gym. BSU fell to the Chippewas by a score of 192.150 to 186.875.
Senior Jenna Tarkington claimed a third place finish with her stunning routine on vault after scoring a 9.750. Tarkington ranked third out of 12 total gymnasts.
Senior Kelly Watson and teammate junior Erica Gilkerson tied for fifth after totaling a 9.525 on beam.
Watson highlighted the evening with her strong floor routine to capture a tie for second place and collected a career high with a score of 9.750.
The Cardinals high scorer on bars was junior Brittany George with a 9.500.
Ball State will be back in action as they host Alaska Anchorage on Sunday, Jan. 28 at 2 pm in Irving Gym. The meet is called "Flip for Pink" which is dedicated to Breast Cancer survivors and awareness.
