
Hot Shooting Leads Women?s Basketball Over Miami, 90-62

“In the huddle before the tip, the crowd was so loud and the players were so pumped up that I knew we were going to play with a great intensity today,” head coach Tracy Roller said. “Today was one of those days when you are in the zone shooting. We took advantage of that by getting some great looks at the basket and playing within the flow of our offense.”
The Cardinals set fire to the nets from long range as they connected on 66.7 percent (eight-of-12), for the second straight game. The 66.7 percent shooting from long-range is tied for the third highest in a single game in BSU history while the 60.7 percent from the field is sixth highest in a single game.
The Cardinals had a season-high 10 different players score in the victory, including eight players with seven or more points. Junior Julie DeMuth (
DeMuth finished just shy of a double-double as she grabbed nine rebounds and finished tied for the team-lead with three steals. Green was five-of-six from the field, including two three-pointers, and also hit all four of her free throws.
BSU notched 36 points off of the bench in the victory as freshman Kalynne Proctor (
“Our depth is probably our biggest advantage this season and today's performance shows that,” Roller said. “We had two starters in four trouble in the first half but this team did not miss a beat as we had players like Kalynne (Proctor) and Kiley (Jarrett) step up on both ends of the floor.”

The Cardinals headed into the locker room with a 44-29 lead as they connected on 18-of-29 (62.1%) from the field and six-of-eight (75%) from three-point land. DeMuth paced the attack in the opening frame with nine points while Jarrett added seven points in the half.
The Cardinals slammed the door shut in emphatic fashion as they scored 17 unanswered points on its way to a 21-2 run that gave BSU an 85-56 lead. The run was spurred by the play of senior guard Kelsey Corbin (

Corbin finished the night with 11 points as she was five-of-six shooting in just 16 minutes of action. Bolte added eight points as she connected on two-of-three from three-point land. Senior Becca Bajorek chipped in seven points, grabbed six rebounds and dished out a career-high three assists. McDonald also notched seven points in the victory for the Cardinals.
