The Cardinals answered right back against the Lumberjacks in the 26th minute of action as they were rewarded for their constant pressure. True freshman Megan Ridley evened the game up at one apiece as she corralled a loose ball in the box and poked it past the NAU goalkeeper for her first career collegiate goal. Sophomore midfielder Annie Aiello recorded her first career assist on the Ridley goal.
Northern Arizona responded in what would turn out to be the game-winning goal in the 31st minute as Odorfer tallied the Lumberjacks second goal of the game to retake the lead for NAU, 2-1.
Both teams battled back and forth in the second half with each team registering dangerous chances as both goalkeepers were up to task. Murphy finished the night with four saves in her first career collegiate loss while NAU goalkeeper Elizabeth Winkelblec notched five saves in the victory.
