Women's Volleyball Suffers 3-0 Loss to Alabama

Tuscaloosa, Ala. - - The Ball State women's volleyball team dropped its second match of the day with a 0-3 (25-30, 25-30, 15-30) setback to Alabama in the featured match of the opening night of the "Bama Bash". With the loss, the Cardinals fall to 1-4 on the year, while Alabama improves to 4-1.
Freshman Julie Breivogel (Boonville, Ind./Boonville H.S.) paced the BSU offense with 12 kills in the contest, while adding five digs.

After the break, Alabama would come out of the locker room on fire, opening the third game with six-straight points before building a 10-2 advantage. BSU would draw within six points at 11-5 but get no closer, dropping the game 30-15.
BSU setter Angie Parrell (Black Earth, Wis./Wisconsin Heights H.S.) would add seven kills in the loss, while tying Gibson for match-high honors with three total blocks. Parrell would also add 33 assists and five digs, while Gibson collected four kills and a dig.
Along with her ace, Kennedy would finish the match with five kills and a dig.

As a team, the Cardinals posted a .202 (41-18-114) attack percentage, compared to a .342 (55-14-120) rate of success for Alabama. The Crimson Tide also held a 7-5 edge in total blocks and a 51-44 advantage in digs.
Three members of the Crimson Tide recorded double-figure kills in the contest, with Crystal Hudson and Brooks Webster tallying 13 each and Bridget Fuentez adding 12. Amy Pauly would pace Alabama with 13 digs.
