Jarrod Epkey Named MAC Men's Tennis Player of the Week

Epkey was an integral part of the Cardinals claiming their 19th Mid-American Conference regular season title after going undefeated in both singles and doubles against Northern Illinois Saturday.
Epkey helped the Cardinals earn the doubles point after teaming with his brother, Tony, for an 8-4 win at the No. 2 position over NIU's David Katz and Jimmy Chu. The successful twosome improved their record to 11-4 from the No. 2 slot this season. Epkey also garnered a straight-set 6-4, 7-5 victory over Diego Zagarra-Ballon at the No. 5 singles position.
The Cardinals look for their 17th MAC Tournament title when they head to Toledo, Ohio Friday. Ball State is slated to take on the winner of No. 4 seed Buffalo versus No. 5 seed Northern Illinois at 10 a.m.
