Cardinals Shutout Buffalo in Men's Tennis

To start the afternoon, Matt Baccarani and Joe Epkey easily slid past Buffalo's No. 1 doubles team of Nikesh Singh Panthlia and Yules Hadisubroto 8-1. BSU's No.2 and No. 3 doubles tandems each took down their respective opponents by the same score of 8-3. The brother duo of Tony and Jarrod Epkey defeated UB's Matt Kennedy and Albert Alant, while Patrick Thompson and Joe Vallee downed Mike Zappone and Alejandro Galindo.
In singles play, it was more of the same as Ball State's players defeated their opponents in straight sets. Baccarani added another notch to the win column at the top spot after taking down Mike Rockman 6-3, 6-2. Joe Epkey picked up a 6-1, 6-4 win over Singh Panthlia at No. 2, while Tony Epkey finished off Hadisubroto 6-1, 6-3 at No. 3. Rounding out the singles wins were Thompson, Jarrod Epkey and Danny Vidal, who came out victorious over Octavian Stane (6-3, 6-0), Alant (6-0, 6-1) and Kennedy (6-4, 6-3), respectively.
The Cardinals (14-6, 1-0 MAC) continue conference play when Toledo travels to Muncie for a 1 p.m. matchup Saturday.
