Two Track and Field Members Named to Academic All-MAC Team

The award is bestowed upon those student-athletes who have excelled in athletics and academics. To qualify, student-athletes must have at least a 3.20 cumulative grade point average and have participated in at least 50 percent of the contests of a particular sport. First-year students and junior college transfers are not eligible for the award.
Lehe owns the team's highest GPA of 3.905 as a dietetics major. Lehe picked up her first win of the season in the mile (5:09.30) at the Ball State Open Jan. 13 and posted her second win in the 3,000 (10:11.73) Jan. 20 at the Bowling Green Triangular. Lehe currently owns BSU's third-best time in the mile (5:01.47) and 3,000 (10:11.73).
Scully has been the top distance runner for the Cardinals all season. At the Mid-American Conference Championship, Scully won both the 3,000-meter run (9:44.49) and 5,000 (16:42.66), while adding a second-place finish in the mile (4:54.52). For her efforts, Scully was named the MAC's Most Outstanding Performer for the second-straight year.
Earlier in the season, Scully broke the 3,000-meter school record at the Iowa State Classic Feb. 11 with an NCAA provisional qualifying time of 9:31.43. At the Meyo Invitational, Scully broke her second school record of the season posting a time of 16:31.26 in the 5,000. In addition, the senior broke the Ball State Field Sports Building record Feb. 17 in the mile with a time of 4:55.70. The senior owns a 3.531 GPA as a mathematics major.
BSU will be back in action March 25, for the Southern Illinois Spring Classic held in Carbondale, Ill. The meet marks the season opener for the outdoor track and field team.
