Men's Tennis Finishes Fourth at Boise State Invitational

Senior Patrick Thompson was the lone Cardinal to tally a victory for Ball State. Thompson defeated his opponent -- Marek Sramek -- 3-6, 6-4, 6-4 at the No. 4 singles position. South Alabama secured the remaining five singles matches. No doubles competition was played.
Ball State defeated two teams on its way to the fourth-place finish. On Thursday, BSU came out on top of a 6-0 decision over Lewis-Clark State College before downing Central Florida 4-2 later that afternoon. The Cardinals then fell to 48th-ranked Louisiana Lafayette 5-2 Friday.
The BSU squad takes a 13-6 overall record into its initial Mid-American Conference match of the season next weekend. The Cardinals will host Buffalo Saturday at 1 p.m.
