Men's Tennis Advances to Semifinals of Boise State Invitational

Ball State won four of six singles matches, while doubles competition was not played. Senior Matt Baccarani defeated Central Florida's Sebastian Delgado 4-6, 6-3, 6-0 at the No. 1 singles position, while junior Joe Epkey tallied a 6-3, 3-6, 7-5 victory over Sinan Sudas at the No. 2 spot. Rounding out the BSU singles' wins was senior Tony Epkey, who was triumphant over Alamgir Wali in a straight set 7-5, 6-1 decision at No. 3 and senior Patrick Thompson, who took down his opponent -- Norman Alcantara - 6-2, 6-3 in the No. 4 hole.
The Cardinals will face 48th-ranked Louisiana, Lafayette at 9:00 a.m. Friday. The other semifinal match pits host Boise State (No. 23) against South Alabama (No. 34) at 1:30 p.m.
