Two BSU Doubles Teams Nationally Ranked

MUNCIE, Ind. -- Two Ball State men's tennis doubles tandems have earned national rankings on the Fila Collegiate Tennis Rankings as announced Tuesday. Seniors Matt Baccarani and Patrick Thompson earned a No. 6 ranking, while Baccarani and junior Joe Epkey found themselves in the No. 28 position.
Baccarani and Thompson own a 7-5 overall record this season, posting a 2-2 mark at the No. 1 doubles slot and a 5-3 open draw mark. Meanwhile, Baccarani and Epkey have tallied an 11-1 overall record this 2006 campaign, recording a perfect 7-0 mark at the No. 1 position and a 4-1 mark in open draw competition.
Additionally, Baccarani has earned a No. 99 ranking in the Fila singles poll. This is the first singles ranking for the BSU squad this season. Baccarani has established a 7-1 singles record -- all from the No. 1 position -- and a 10-3 open draw mark for an overall 17-4 record.
The No. 58 Ball State men's tennis team faces UNLV today at 1 p.m. in Las Vegas, Nev.
