Men's Tennis Team Selected to Capture MAC Championship

MUNCIE, Ind. -- The 2006 Ball State men's tennis team has been tabbed to capture the 2006 Mid-American Conference championship, as selected by league's head coaches. The Cardinals received 34 points to edge Western Michigan, which earned 32 points in the preseason poll.
Toledo, Northern Illinois, Buffalo and IPFW were selected to finish third, fourth, fifth and sixth, respectively.
In voting for the MAC Tournament, Ball State and Western Michigan each received three votes to win the MAC Tournament.
MAC regular season competition begins Feb. 24 and the league tournament is slated for April 27-30 in Toledo, Ohio.
1. Ball State (3) - 34 points
2. Western Michigan (3) - 32 points
3. Toledo - 21 points
4. Northern Illinois - 19 points
5. Buffalo - 12 points
6. IPFW - 8 points
