Bostic helped the Cardinals control the game in his final collegiate contest, carrying the ball 31 times, including two first half touchdown runs.
"I have to give the credit to the offensive line, the receivers down the field and even Nate Davis making some big blocks down the field," Bostic said. "They make me look good, and this is a great way to end my career."
After a 19-yard, first quarter Brian Jackson field goal, Bostic scored his first touchdown on a four-yard run at the 8:22 mark of the second quarter to give Ball State a 10-0 lead. A 30-yard touchdown pass from Nate Davis to Terry Moss extended the Cardinal lead to 17-0 before Bostic added another score 42 seconds before halftime.
"It was a great team win," Ball State coach Brady Hoke said. "We struggled a little early, but then Larry really got going for us."
Bostic's touchdown came from seven yards out and was set up by a 41-yard hookup between Davis and a diving Dante Love, who finished the game with five catches for 75 yards.
Tight end Darius Hill led Ball State in receiving with five catches for 116 yards, and Davis finished the game 16-of-28 passing for 268 yards and the touchdown to Moss.
After building a 24-0 halftime lead, the Cardinals tacked on two more Jackson field goals in the second half. The senior connected on kicks from 20 and 22 yards.
Kent State's only score of the game came on a 15-play, 80-yard drive that finished with a nine-yard touchdown pass from Julian Edelman to Marcus Hill early in the fourth quarter.
Edelman led the Golden Flashes with 181 passing yards and also picked up 109 yards on the ground. Ball State held Kent State to 265 total yards while racking up 405 on the offensive side of the ball.
"In a lot of ways our defensive improvement has to do with the maturing process," Hoke said. "We really haven't given up big plays in the last four weeks."
The Cardinals closed the season with wins in three of those last four weeks to improve their record to 5-7 and finish the season with a winning Mid-American Conference record at 5-3.
