Women's Golf Registers School-Record Round; Finish Fifth At Bay Tree
September 23, 2005 | Women's Golf
The 297 team score was the lowest of any of the 15 teams at the event and propelled the Cardinals into a fifth-place team finish after opening the day in eighth. The score also betters the previous school record of 302 set by the 2003 team at the Youngstown State Invitational.
Individually, Kallie Harrison and Julie Harder each fired a final-round 73, just one stroke of the BSU school record of 72 for 18 holes managed by Tammy Nigh in 1982 and current senior Katie Sundberg in 2003 and in 2004.
Harrison finished tied for 12th (76-78-73=227), while Harder tied for 16th (76-79-73=228). Amber Uphaus (78-78-75) tied for 25th, Sundberg (80-84-76) and Holly Jones (79-81-80) tied for 47th.
The Cardinals return to action Oct. 1-2 at the UK Invitational played at University Club in Lexington, Ky.
