Eight Cardinals Earn Academic All-MIVA Honors

Braley, who graduated earlier this month with a degree in landscape architecture, compiled a 3.346 GPA during his academic career at Ball State. As a senior, he played in 83 of the Cardinals' 115 games totalling 184.5 points, 125 kills, 81 block assists and 12 solo blocks from his position as a middle attacker. For his career, Braley totaled 210 block assists, 26 solo blocks and 395 kills on a .364 attack percentage, which ranks ninth all time in BSU history.
A middle attacker, Bushong finished with a 3.567 overall GPA majoring in elementary education. As a junior -- his final year of competition -- he saw action in 67 games and recorded 140.5 points, 99 kills on a .330 attack percentage plus recorded 49 block assists and four solo blocks. In addition to his 228 career kills, 112 block assists and nine solo blocks, Bushong's .359 attack percentage ranks 11th in the Cardinals' record books.
Carlson has a 3.387 GPA as a business major at BSU. As a junior, the starting setter notched 1,141 assists in his first year of competition with the Cardinals. Carlson also had 111 points, 153 digs, 45 block assists, 12 solo blocks and 93 kills on a .490 attack percentage.
An international business major, Grabovac has accumulated a 3.338 GPA. During his junior season, he managed 334.5 points and 256 kills with a .355 hitting percentage while playing in 104 games. Grabovac, a middle attacker, also had 93 block assists, 11 solo blocks and 21 service aces in 2005.
Haney, who saw action in six games as a junior, has compiled a 3.633 GPA majoring in graphic arts management. An outside attacker, he totaled three points on three kills -- one at Clarke, one at home versus Clarke and one at home against Quincy -- with 12 attack attempts and notched his lone dig April 2 versus Quincy.
A 2005 All-MIVA Second Team selection, Meyer has a 3.777 GPA as a computer science major. As a sophomore, the 6-8 outside attacker led the squad with 427.5 points, 364 kills (.248) and 29 aces, while also recording 124 digs and 65 block assists in 87 games.
Rivera, an outside attacker/libero, has managed a 3.357 GPA as a freshman. During his 79 games, he tallied 39 digs, seven points, four block assists, four aces, three assists and one kill.
A consumer science major, Rumschik has accumulated a 3.746 GPA during his two years at Ball State. Seeing action in 96 games this season, he managed 106 points, 86 kills, 69 digs, 21 total blocks and nine aces.
The Cardinals finished their season with a 17-15 overall record and a 10-6 MIVA mark. Ball State fell 3-2 to Ohio State in the MIVA semifinals April 29 in Chicago, Ill.
