Plantz Turns in 18th-Place Finish at NCAA Zone C Diving Regional

NCAA Zone C Diving Regional Complete Results
WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. -- Ball State senior diver Ryan Plantz (Granger, Ind./Penn H.S.) turned in an 18th place finish on the 1-meter board at the 2005 NCAA Zone C Diving Regional hosted by Purdue last weekend. In 12 dives, Plantz tallied a score of 490.15. Ohio State’s Mitch Richeson won the event with a 12-dive total of 658.50 points.
Plantz also competed in the 3-meter preliminaries, where he finished 21st with a six-dive total score of 246.35. He was just 17.45 points shy of 18th, which would have put him in the finals of the event. Indiana’s Marc Carlton won the 3-meter competition with a 12-dive score of 594.65.
Plantz was the top MAC finisher on the 1-meter board at the NCAA Zone C Diving Regional, while he placed second among league entries in the 3-meter event.
