Muncie, Ind. -- The Ball State women's swimming and diving team suffered its first Mid-American Conference loss of the season to Miami Saturday afternoon at Lewellen Aquatic Center. With the win, the Redhawks improved to a MAC record of 3-0 on the season, while the Cardinals fell to 2-1 in league contests.
Ball State came out with an early lead gaining a first-place time in the 200 medley relay. Brittany Sayler, Addison Del Rio, Erin Johnson, and Abby Arnold combined for a first-place time of 1:47.46 in the event.
The Ball State squad combined for two more individual first-place times in the meet. Addison Del Rio earned a first-place time of 1:06.53 in the 100 breaststroke, while Brittany Sayler clocked a top time of 58.47 in the 100 backstroke.
The Cardinals also scored a first-place time in the 800 freestyle relay with a time of 7:49.71.
The Ball State swimming and diving team will return to action Friday, November 11 at 6 p.m. against MAC foe Bowling Green in Lewellen Aquatic Center.
