Paul Schudel

Paul Schudel posted a 60-48-4 career coaching record as Ball State’s head football coach from 1985-94. He guided the Cardinals to the 1989 Mid-American Conference Championship and the school’s first ever NCAA Division IA bowl game – the California Raisin Bowl. Schudel, who ranks second in Ball State history with 60 football coaching wins, also led the Cardinals to the 1993 MAC title and a berth in the Las Vegas Bowl. In his final seven seasons, he guided Ball State to a 37-18-3 conference mark, including a 12-3-2 record in his last two seasons as the Cardinals head coach. He completed his Ball State coaching career ranked fifth in MAC history with 47 victories.
