Harmeyer was a member of the BSU athletic staff for 22 years prior to his death in August of 1990. He joined the Cardinals as ticket manager and assistant sports information director in 1968. In 1971 he was named the school’s first athletic business manager. Harmeyer was promoted to assistant athletic director for business services in 1977, and in April of 1986, he was elevated to associate athletic director for business services. In his tenure at BSU, he was involved in many facets of the athletic departments. His primary responsibilities were with tickets, but he also helped in all phases of team travel, prepared financial reports plus supervised staffing of ushers and ticket takers at home events.
