Rowker was a four-year letterwinner for the Ball State field hockey team as a goalie prior to her 1991 graduation from BSU. Rowker completed her career as the school-record holder for fewest goals allowed in a career with 66, most saves in a season with 154 most saves in a career with 436, and most shutouts in a season with nine. She registered 19 solo shutouts in her career and combined for six more. Rowker was part of a Ball State program that posted a 20-3 mark vs. MAC opponents and a 41-26 overall record in her career. As a senior, she was selected to the 1991 College Field Hockey Coaches Association All-America Second-Team and the All-Midwest Region First-Team. She became just the third person in school history and only the sixth student-athlete in MAC history to earn all-conference accolades three times in a career. As a senior, Rowker helped the Cardinals to a 12-6 overall record and a 19th place ranking in the final NCAA Field Hockey Poll. After her junior season, Rowker was selected to compete at the 1991 Olympic Sports Festival as a member of the North Team, and was one of six goalies invited to tryouts with the U.S. National Team.
